Free Bus to Casino Rama after 6pm (GTA stops)!

new-editon-cool-it-now-1985

Problem: I purchased tickets to see New Edition at Casino Rama, but the show starts at 8pm, and the casino is approximately 2-hours away. I don’t want to deal with sittin’ in rush hour traffic which will be absolutely brutal!

Solution: Skip the $5 (one-way) bus and do the FREE BUS! Right now, through DSL charter bus service, they are running a promo that offers free rides, at any of their stops, after 6pm.

I called DSL to ask when this promo is ending and the operator didn’t know, but responded, “probably at the end of this month”. However, you are required to make a reservation so that the bus company knows how many spots to reserve at each stop.

This promo is also great for people who are visiting the GTA and want to check out the casino, but don’t want to hassle with driving, gas, GPS, traffic, etc. All you have to do is to reserve your spot and get yourself to the nearest stop!

To check out their schedule, click and go to the “Getting Here by Bus” link OR contact DSL directly at: (416) 298-1023/(905) 480-0567.

Do you have to have players card and can you leave the casino to go see the falls?

Is there a buffet at the casino and is it any good?

  2. Kate says:

Casino Rama isn’t in Niagara Falls..

  3. Miranda says:

Casino Rama has a number of different restaurants, one of them is a buffet and it’s quite good. Cedar restaurant is my personal pick. But yes…it’s not in Niagara Falls.

  4. says:

Thanks @Miranda for the recommendation! Just looking through the list of restos in that complex was overwhelming enough.

And don’t ALL casinos have buffets??

  5. Jen says:

I don’t recommend the Cedar restaurant. I won a voucher for $80 worth of food there — and it was barely enough for one person! TOO expensive! Just go into Orillia and eat! They have MUCH better restaurants that are a lot cheaper! 😉

??? $ 80.00 was not enough ??? More than enough unless one is a big eater

I purchased a big chicken salad, drink and think it was frings (fries and onion rings) for $ 15.00 with taxes.

I love Rama. The food at the Couchiching Court buffet is excellent, and if you are a regular player they are very generous with comps. I’m off to see Gordon Lightfoot on Friday… tickets, room, two $40 meal vouchers. I’m not a high roller, but I do visit most months and always enjoy myself.

Thank you for the Info. I called DSL this morning and the lady told me that I have to take the 5:00pm bus from Yonge St & Hwy 7 to arrive for the New Edition Concert on time. So the “Free Bus” won’t apply to me.

  8. Roxanne says:

Is there another Bus Company I can contact?

  9. Miranda says:

Most of the entrees at Cedar are around $20, none are more than $25 so it’s not any pricier than decent entrees at chain restaurants like Montanas or Kelseys. I’m not sure how $80 wasn’t enough for 2 people.

Roxanne, there are tons of busses that go up to Rama depending on whereabouts you live. Just google “Casino Rama bus” and I’m sure you can find something!

  10. Shannon says:

I think $10 for a round trip is already a deal itself considering the price of gas if you had to drive 2 hours there and 2 hours back.

  11. says:

@Roxanne – If you need a ride let me know. You can chip in for gas. HOWEVER, I took the day-off, so I’m planning to leave earlier to avoid the traffic.

I’m only going with 1 other gf!

The free bus thing didn’t work for me either ’cause it would get me there on-time!

If not, you can call Tai Pan Tours, but it’s $10 round-trip.

  12. kb says:

You get a 2hr bus ride for 5$ and that’s too much?!?

  13. bill says:

Actually I want to go up there to see casino rama, but not necessarily take the same bus back. Do they have buses running back with available seating or does one need to book round trip. Funny, I tried to contact tai pan and Angel for current costs and ask that question, cannot get through- greyhound same. geez!
